'Calvin and Hobbes' brings back memories in this animated film short

According to ComicBook.com on March 20, the old comic strip by Bill Watterson, "Calvin and Hobbes", was brought to life by Adam Brown.

YouTube fans were suddenly transported back in time to a day of their childhood where they eagerly looked forward reading the Sunday comics. One YouTube commenter stated, "My ten year old mind just exploded!!"

The clip basically revealed the most recognized running gag in the comic strip where Calvin is out playing by himself and always caught unawares by Hobbes pouncing on him spontaneously. Memories of certain scenes where Calvin got that feeling he was going to get pounced on as he entered a room carefully, but still gets scared out of his wits by Hobbes.

Adam did give insight to how he basically put it all together.

"Flash to trace and animate the comic, and some simple Photoshop and After Effects for the background".

This seems to have planted a seed by others who have seen it and Brown is considering recreating more of Bill Watterson's creations in animated format.

An interview with Bill Watterson does indicate that he didn't regret running his ever so popular strip into the ground, regardless currently grieving fans missing the strip.

This short film probably gave a break to the grieving thanks to Brown and could start a trend of computer animators to reanimate iconic Sunday comic strip characters.
