Caltrans posts freeway ramp closure for 2013 Rose Parade

Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) announced on Friday the on ramps and off ramps that will be closed for the 124th Rose Parade. These closures affect the 134, 210 and 710 freeways from Dec. 31, 2012 through Jan. 1, 2013. Note that the times the ramps are closed are different for each location.

Readers who are traveling through Pasadena on those days should be aware of the closures and plan routes to avoid them. Traffic is also heavy in the days preceding and following the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.

For changes in traffic signals, read “Traffic advisories for Pasadena Tournament of Roses.”

Caltrans also reminds motorists to “slow for the cone zone.”

Here are the ramp closures for the 2013 Rose Parade for Monday, Dec. 31 through Tuesday, Jan. 1:

Ventura Freeway (SR-134)
8 p.m. to 2 p.m. – Eastbound Orange Grove Boulevard off-ramp
2 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Westbound Orange Grove Boulevard on-ramp

Foothill Freeway (I-210)
8 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Eastbound San Gabriel Boulevard off-ramp
8 p.m. to 4 p.m. – Westbound Sierra Madre Boulevard off-ramp

Long Beach Freeway (SR- 710)
9 p.m. to 11 a.m. – Southbound Del Mar Boulevard off-ramp.
6 p.m. to 11 a.m. – Northbound Del Mar Boulevard and California Boulevard on-ramps.

The theme of the 124th Rose Parade and 99th Rose Bowl Game is Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” The Tournament of Roses is a celebration that lasts several weeks in the fall and winter, with the high points being the Rose Parade presented by Honda and the Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.
