Calm down! Aveeno will help with skin irritations while traveling
Tamar Alexia Fleishman, Esq.

Since I'm always traveling and touching things away from home -- and I have fair, sensitive skin -- I'm quite frequently the victim of irritated, rashy skin with hives. Yuck! It's depressing. These type of skin issues can make one want to be a recluse when not traveling. That's why I was happy to be hosted to experience some Aveeno's skin products!

Jennifer Aniston is a spokesperson for the line; she's definitely not showing her age.

Award-winning AVEENO® ULTRA-CALMING® Foaming Cleanser is a very special product in the marketplace. I have a confession to make: when my skin is at its worst -- I mean, so red and inflamed -- I am loathe to wash it a lot. I know! But so many cleansers are a little sticky or goopy, I feel like it takes so much warm water to get it off and maybe toner, too . . . I just can't handle it. The foaming cleanser is so light and airy, like ultra-whipped egg whites. It goes on like a bubble and foams as you put it on. It comes right off, no pushing or pulling needed. You don't feel like you have to melt it off, either.

The accompanying product is AVEENO® ULTRA-CALMING® Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 15. Some women avoid SPF products, because they can be chalky and hard to apply makeup over. This is not the case with Aveeno. the cream is rich, but doesn't feel oily and irritating. This is what they say about it:

Formulas with ACTIVE NATURALS® CALMING FEVERFEW® significantly improve the appearance of facial redness and calm irritated or sensitive skin.

While traditionally used for its medicinal properties, which include headache relief and fever reduction, ACTIVE NATURALS® CALMING FEVERFEW® is a skin care breakthrough. Purified feverfew extract has anti-irritant benefits and has been shown in preclinical testing to effectively deliver a broad range of antioxidant and calming benefits compared to over 2,000 other natural ingredients.

Something that absolutely belongs in your carry-on 3-1-1 bag is AVEENO® 1% Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Cream. You just never know what little allergic reaction you could pick up, even from strange laundry detergents. I had something going on my back the other day . . . that night, I put on the cream and was fine by morning.

It has ACTIVE NATURALS® Triple Oat Complex, aloe, and vitamin E and provides temporary relief from the itching associated with minor skin irritations, inflammation, rashes due to eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, insect bites, poison ivy/oak/sumac, soaps, detergents, cosmetics, or jewelry.

I know a lot of people who don't like to fuss around their personal care products . . . they want to put on what they need to put on and forget about it. For those folks, the rich feeling AVEENO® Skin Relief 24hr Moisturizing Lotion fits the bill. It's fragrance free, steroid free, and gentle enough for sensitive skin.

If AVEENO® POSITIVELY NOURISHING® Antioxidant Infused Body Wash with White Peach and Ginger were presented in a fancy bottle at a department store, nobody would blink at paying five times the price for it. The scent is delicious and the wash is creamy and elegant. It's also great to shave with, providing lots of slip.

If you have fragile skin, you know what it is . . . if you don't, you probably don't. AVEENO® POSITIVELY AGELESS® Skin Strengthening Hand Cream is for those with thin, easily irritated skin, especially on their hands. My grandfather had that and lots of diabetics also have it. It's rich and leaves a film behind -- on purpose. The cream has been clinically shown to moisturize for 24 hours. Formulated with ACTIVE NATURALS® Southernwood, it works to help fortify the skin's moisture barrier, leaving it feeling stronger and more resilient. It's definitely perfect for a carry-on 3-1-1 bag.
