Spring is right around the corner and in Austin, Texas that means the re-emergence of artists from a long winter holed up in their studios. Already the months of March, April and May are quickly filling up with exciting art events such as the Night Owl & Early Bird fundraising event presented by Big Medium. This two-day event will begin at 6pm on March 12th and end at noon on the following day. Night Owl & Early Bird is the latest effort by Big Medium to raise awareness and support for the local arts community in Austin. Their previous programs include studio spaces for working artist, the East Austin Studio Tour and the Texas Biennial art show.

Night Owl - Friday March 12th from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am
Big Medium invites all artists to come together for an evening of interactive art-making. This is an opportunity to meet, brainstorm and create with other community artists to produce collaborative work in one night. Pencils and paper will be available, and artists are welcome to bring any additional supplies. Beer and pizza will also be provided.

Early Bird - Saturday March 13th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

After a late night of collaborative artmaking by 50+ artists, Big Medium invites its supporters to a morning art reception to view the results of this experimental practice. Join us for breakfast treats, coffee and the opportunity to purchase a variety of unique artwork created by the combined efforts of local artists. All proceeds from Night Owl & Early Bird will help fund Big Medium, the Texas Biennial and the East Austin Studio Tour.

Night Owl & Early Bird will take place at the Big Medium headquarters at 5305 Bolm Rd #12. For more information call 512.385.1670.
