Calling all Kentucky fiction writers and/or poets

If you want to learn to write, share you writing or just enjoy the written word, then have I got a deal for you! The Kentucky State Poetry Society is having their membership drive and I want to invite each of you to join! A whole family membership is only $30.00 for a year. What do you get for this? Well, glad you asked.... As a member, you will have the opportunity to associate with fellow writers, develop friendships, and exchange ideas on how to sharpen your writing skills. Members receive Pegasus, the official KSPS poetry journal, consisting of Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter issues, plus a Prize Poems Issue in which all first place poems from the annual contest appear. Four times each year, members receive the KSPS Newsletter containing information on coming events, workshops, opportunities to place their poetry, contests, member activities and publications. Members also receive Strophes, the newsletter of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, keeping members up-to-date on poetry happenings across the nation, including national conventions, contests and poetry/writing markets. KSPS members are provided the opportunity to post their publications/services on the KSPS website and/or in the KSPS quarterly newsletter. The KSPS annual poetry contest is open to all and has over 30 categories and KSPS members are granted discounted entry fees for the contests. If that is not enough there are endless opportunities outside of the Poetry Society that you can network with and share your writing with such group as the Written Word Writer's Group in Radcliff, Kentucky and the Green River Writers with Kentucky Writer Mary O'Dell as their coordinator. Coming up this spring is our Mid-Year Conference in Harrodsburg, ky. The fun starts on Friday, April 16th and concludes on Saturday the 17th with a wonderful banquet (included in the price). There will be many chances this weekend and many workshops to help hone those writing skills. The fun and sharing never stops just look in a corner and some writers will be there reading their work....this is a great chance to share your talent with others.
