Calling all cougars, a new reality TV show on TLC is looking for you and your story of dating younger men 20, 30, 40 or even 50 years your junior. “Extreme Cougar Wives” debuted in November on TLC as a television special to rave reviews. It has been picked up as a docu-series and is on the prowl for cougars to star in a reality TV show that explores this latest dating trend of older women and younger men.
May/December romances are nothing new for men, with most receiving accolades for landing younger women, however, cougars, or women 50 and above are often labeled negatively and their younger partners stigmatized for their dating choices.
Stilleto Television, the production company that created the television special for TLC, “Extreme Cougar Wives”, has launched a nationwide search for additional sassy cougars to star in its docu-series detailing this latest dating trend of older women and younger men.
Don’t be fooled by the term cougar or think these women and couples are a joke. The clips of “Extreme Cougar Wives” not only depict real-life situations, but genuine people who have deep feelings for each other. The special candidly explored two couples and one single, all older women who adore younger men and the males who are in love with or love to date older women. While Hattie, 76, may truly define the term cougar, the other couples, Jude and Kevin and Octavio and Stephanie receive harsh comments from onlookers, family and friends.
