Fans of Gloria Estefan have something to look forward to in the fall of 2015. "On Your Feet!" will be the new Broadway musical centering on the lives of Estefan and her husband Emilio.
Back in 1985, the Estefans hit it big as the Miami Sound Machine with "Conga." In 1986, they brought us "Bad Boy," the slow song "Words Get In The Way" and the catchy "Falling In Love(Uh Oh)."
In 1987 the billing of the group changed to Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine. "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" was a top 10 hit in 1987.
By 1989, Gloria Estefan had solo billing with the number one song "Don't Wanna Lose You." The up-tempo sing-along song "Get On Your Feet" enjoyed chart success in 1989.
The Estefans were involved in a serious bus crash in 1990. They did recover. In 1991, "Coming Out Of The Dark" hit number one.
One more notable highlight came in 1999 when Gloria played the role of Isabel Vasquez in the movie "Music Of The Heart." "Music Of My Heart" from that movie featured Gloria with NSYNC.
Casting calls for the new production will begin next month.
Gloria is now 56 and is a seven time Grammy Award winner. The Estefans have stars on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Looking back at life on the road, the "Primitive Love Tour or "Conga Tour" started it all for them in 1985.
The "Let It Loose Tour" came in 1987. 1989's travels brought the "Get On Your Feet World Tour." "Into The Light World Tour" launched in 1991. 1996-1997's billing was the "Evolution World Tour." 2004's was the "Live & Re-Wrapped Tour." 2008 and 2009 brought the 90 Millas World Tour."
