Proving once again that music is a universal language, tonight's performance by Calle 13 at the Latin Grammy Awards was incredible. Showing why the lead singer is worth of multi awards, the group won the Best Urban Music Album at the 12th annual Latin Grammy show held in Las Vegas.
The group won a total of four awards including Producer of the Year, Best Short-Form Music Video and Best Tropical Song
The lead singer Rene Perez Joglar (aka Residente), is very talented and as shown in the video the song comes from the heart. Rene had this to say about the award,
“This brings oxygen to our career, now that they never play us on the radio,” said René Pérez Joglar, aka "Residente."
TThe Latin Grammy Awards highlight and reward work produced anywhere around the world. The work must be recorded in Spanish or Portuguese. Peers within the music industry choose the winners. Staples Center in Los Angeles hosted the first annual Latin Grammys show in 2002. It is the first primetime awards show to be broadcast in the Spanish language, originating in the USA.
