Call your Senators: Stop Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion in New Hampshire

Today Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire released a radio ad warning Granite Staters about SB 413. This is the Obamacare Medicaid Expansion bill that the Senate held hearings on today as well. As written previously, this is a huge federal government entitlement program that is being pushed onto small government New Hampshire. The bill will actually take Obamacare funds to pay for the private insurance that people who are eligible already pay for currently. It’s a program that turns people who are independent of the government into dependents of the government (aka taxpayers).

Obamacare is a Disaster

Text of the ad as posted by WMUR:

Obamacare has been a disaster for New Hampshire families. 22,000 New Hampshire citizens have already lost their insurance and countless more are being forced into part time work. Now, the New Hampshire Senate wants to make things even worse by expanding Medicaid coverage as part of Obamacare. That move could force an additional 20,000 people off of their current plans and onto Medicaid.

Shortly, the Senate will be voting on Obamacare's Medicaid Expansion, Senate Bill 413. The Heritage Foundation says Medicaid Expansion will cost New Hampshire taxpayers 126 million dollars more.

What’s worse, the expansion will increase emergency room usage by 40% meaning longer wait times and even higher costs.

Stop the Senate from making a costly mistake. Call your State Senator and tell them to vote no on SB 413. Go to to find your Senator’s phone number today.

Paid for by Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire

To this day, not one Senator or Representative supporting this Obamacare expansion has informed Granite Staters how they will pay for it when the federal funds start decreasing. New Hampshire will have to come up with multiple millions of dollars (note: taxpayers are already paying for this at the federal level) to make up the difference. Since there is already a tight budget in the state, where is the money going to come from? It is egregious to pass a bill without having a clue how to resolve the future financial implications. Implications that will surely force an income tax and/or a sales tax onto Granite Staters who are already hurting. As the ad says, call your Senators and demand they reject Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion.
