What: You’re invited to experience the “Let Freedom Ring Commemoration” event which is a call to action and acknowledgment of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech on the outside steps of the Lincoln Memorial. This event is said to be truly history in the making! Look forward to honorable guests such as:
- President Barack Obama
- Members of the Dr. MLK Jr. family
- President Jimmy Carter
- President Bill Clinton
- Select civil rights leaders
Did you know? According to The King Center, “Let Freedom Ring" will conclude seven-days of events commemorating the March on Washington and Dr. King’s Dream speech. Check out a list of events that occurred during MLK Dream 50 here.
Who: Open to general public for free whereas, no tickets are required.
When: Wednesday, August 28, 2013 the doors open at 9 a.m. and the program begins at 11 a.m.
Where: Lincoln Memorial ~ 2 Lincoln Memorial Circle NW, Washington, DC 20037.
FYI: Please note guests are encouraged to enter from the east side of the Reflecting Pool, on 17th street, near the World War II memorial. Also note guests arriving after 12 p.m. are not guaranteed admittance
