Despite the fact that there are numerous next-gen titles coming this holiday season, in addition to Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V releasing later this month, it looks like another Call of Duty will still be the biggest game of the year. As reported by VG247 on Sept 9, GameStop released a press release stating that Call of Duty: Ghosts is on a direct path to be the year’s most pre-ordered game.
Pre-orders for the upcoming installment of the popular franchise were previously below last year’s release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. It now seems like that number is now up as GameStop, the largest North American video game chain, announced that Call of Duty: Ghosts will likely beat out all other game’s in terms of pre-ordered units for the year.
For the first time in the Call of Duty series, gamers will have a canine companion at their disposal inside Call of Duty: Ghosts. The faithful German Shepard can be given commands and is a vital piece of both the player's squad and the game's mechanics.
Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, and PC on Nov 5. Next-gen versions of the first-person shooter will also release for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 later this year.
