Call of Duty: Ghosts is almost upon us! Being released in two weeks, the title is a sure fire hit, regardless of public perception of the franchise. As we get closer to release, technical details regarding the game are starting to trickle down to the public.
For starters, PC requirements for the title have finally been officially revealed by Infinity Ward. Although slightly different than the numbers released by Nvidia late last month, the specifications do match up, for the most part. The minimum system requirements are as follows:
- OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
- CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Hard Disk Space: 40 GB
- Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 450 / ATI® Radeon™ HD 5870 or better
- Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
- DirectX®: DirectX® 11
- Internet: Broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer.
Upon this announcement, it turns out that next-generation console owners won't be exempt from the massive hard drive requirements. As per a leaked game sleeve for the PlayStation 4 variant of Call of Duty: Ghosts, it turns out that even console owners are mandated to have 49GB of free hard drive space in order to install the game. That’s a massive step up from last generation titles, undoubtedly caused by the higher resolution textures and assets present in the next generation offerings.
