While most users welcome patches that offer fixes to common problems, at least one has expressed concern about the size of patches released for PlayStation 4. The latest “Call of Duty: Ghosts” PS4 patch is reportedly 1.7GB, which is much larger than gamers are used to seeing on older consoles like PlayStation 3.
When asked on Reddit, Activision support pointed to the enhanced hardware and graphics included in the next-generation consoles as the culprit for the larger patch sizes.
