Activision appears to be releasing a new microtransaction Killstreak DLC for the recently-released multiplatform video game, “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” According to a report from VG247 on Dec. 10, an alleged retail employee mentioned that his store recently received some promotional materials advertising for The Wolf Guard Dog Killstreak Skin.
The microtransaction Killstreak Skin DLC will transform the Guard Dog Killstreak into a snow wolf. It will be priced at approximately $3 with a release date set for Dec. 10. Since Microsoft currently has a deal with Activision on timed-exclusive DLC, it appears that The Wolf Guard Dog Killstreak Skin will be released first on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles. You can check out an image of the DLC, along with screens from “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” in the slideshow to the left of this article. The comments from the alleged retail employee are located below (courtesy of VG247):
That’s to cover the tax they charge now on the Xbox Marketplace since converting to real money. Just letting everyone know that the Wolf skin won’t be out until December 12th! We pulled the case off the shelf for now, but it’ll definitely be available on the 12th, at least for the 360 (and probably XB1)!
One of the biggest new additions to “Call of Duty: Ghosts” is the inclusion of a dog companion. In addition to the single-player campaign, players can also use their canine friends to attack others during competitive online multiplayer matches.
Activision released “Call of Duty: Ghosts” first for the Nintendo Wii U, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 early last month on Nov. 5. The PS4 version of the first-person shooter then came out on Nov. 15, followed by the Xbox One iteration on Nov. 22.
