The official launch of "Call of Duty: Ghosts" is just days away. In order to keep the excitement flowing, the team behind the game shed a bit more light on a new mode last night.
The new Extinction mode has been getting quite a bit of press, and the general public seems to be largely split down the middle whether or not this will be better than the former zombie levels that were included in earlier versions of "Call of Duty."
In order to try and convince people that Extinction is actually going to be an improvement, a new post on the COD community blog detailed the four different classes of combatants that can be used to fight off the alien hordes.
The four different classes have different abilities and the team is really only successful when all four classes are able to use their abilities in tandem. The mode has already been billed as one where players will need to use anything and everything at their disposal in order to beat the odds and the aliens.
The Weapon Specialist does 20 percent more bullet damage than the other members of the team. As the specialist gains levels, they become that much more effective at using the different methods.
The Tank is someone who can take quite a licking and keep on ticking. This characterization come with 25 percent more health. This allows the Tank to enter melees that would kill other members of the squad quickly.
The Engineer provides armor for the "Drill" a weapon that is vital to your progression through the level.
The Medic is able to revive teammates faster than the other classes in the game. Having a medic on the team can mean the difference between success and failure.
The creators of "Call of Duty: Ghosts" say that the successful teams will have the right people playing as the classes they are best suited for in order to fight off the invaders.
"Ghosts" is due out on November 5 for current gen consoles and will be available on launch day for the PS4 and Xbox One.
