Call of Duty Endowment partners with Pro vs. GI Joe Purpose Driven Rehab Tour

On October 6th Activision’s Call of Duty Endowment announced its’ partnership with Pro vs. GI Joe’s Purpose Driven Rehab Fall Tour.  The purpose of this tour is to support the rehabilitating of wounded Veteran’s by having them manage events at sporting venues across the nation.  This will help take the rehabilitation, unemployment and other Veterans issues into the public to create more awareness and get more support. 

The tour will stop at high profile sports venues across the nation offering $250,000 in grants for organizations supporting the Veterans unemployment issues.  Some of the featured stops will be at football games in Charlotte, Philadelphia, Green Bay, Jacksonville, and Miami. They will also be attending the Army Ten Miler in Washington, D.C.  In addition to the grants they will be auctioning a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty®: Black Ops Edition vehicle and an opportunity to tour the studio and meet the makers of the Black Ops video game at Treyarch Studios.

Since Activision Blizzard, Inc. started the endowment in 2009 they have given more than $1,000,000 in grants and scholarships to assist returning veterans with post military career help.  They have also committed another $1,000,000 to the endowment pledging to find 1,000 jobs for veterans.

Reacting to the partnership between the Call of Duty Endowment and Pro vs. GI Joe, Alan Baldwin, Colonel, USMC (retired), and current member of the Call of Duty Endowment Advisory Council, stated, “I am excited about the Endowment partnering with an organization like Pro vs. GI Joe on their Purpose Driven Rehab Tour to help raise awareness about the issues our veterans face. The grants the Endowment will announce along the tour will benefit standout organizations that help veterans reintegrate back into civilian life with job training programs and career placement initiatives.”
