Activision posted a recap yesterday on the “Call of Duty” Elite website of the third week qualifiers to determine which “Black Ops 2” players will represent North America in the upcoming “Call of Duty” championship where the best teams in the world will compete for a $1 million top prize.
The “Call of Duty” championship, happening this April, will be sponsored by Xbox to discover the best Xbox 360 players of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” in the world. Over 30 teams from around the globe will compete for the huge winning purse of one million dollars for the championship winners.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” is out now on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, and Nintendo’s Wii U. The “Call of Duty” championship is part of a push for the popular first-person shooter franchise to become better suited to the growing field of eSports.
