Treyarch Studios announced their intentions yesterday to bring the world of e-sports to “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” with an Xbox presented championship with a $1 million prize for the players who come out on top. The 2013 Call of Duty Championship tournament will take place in Hollywood on April 5. Thirty-two teams from around the world will fight it out, in “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” of course, for not only the right to be named the world champions of the hugely popular first-person shooter but will also go home as millionaires.
Since the championships are sponsored by Xbox, all contestants will be playing the “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” on an Xbox 360 during the three-day event. Of the 32 teams to compete, eight team slots are reserved for players from the United States. These slots will be chosen from the top eligible teams from the Champions Series, Master Division on Xbox 360 will qualify for the Call of Duty Championship. “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2” is out now for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii. Xbox 360 owners should start preparing for their change to win $1 million dollars in the Call of Duty Championship.
