Activision is upping the ante by bringing in Oscar winning actor Kevin Spacey for the latest installment of the Call of Duty series.

Originally slated for a May 4th exclusive release, the details on the upcoming Call of Duty game leaked before the scheduled big bang. The new game is titled ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’. The video game is developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. Finally Call of Duty may truly try to refresh the brand and pick up the pieces from the disappointing Ghosts installment that hit store shelves this past November. Activision is stating this will be a new era for the series.

The Advanced Warfare reveal trailer unveils a new gameplay style. Soldiers in battle seem to be using advanced weaponry including exoskeletons, full armored suits, and mini robotic gear, along with swift jumping abilities. Two neat inclusions within the footage are the gloves to grip the walls and cloak-able aircraft. The trailer goes to a shiny new look as it has been captured from Xbox One game play. Also by the movements of the characters and overall graphical approach appears to be potentially using a new engine that what previous installments have been created from.

Though the nifty news, other than a new Call of Duty game headed to consoles, Kevin Spacey will use his talents as the main villain. Spacey steals the reveal trailer with his cold, stern demeanor as he showcases his power. His allusive strength finally gives the series a much needed villain worth fighting or rooting for, depending on the spectrum.

The plot of the game is rumored to revolve around a private military company using its resources to strike against the United States’ government. Kevin Spacey will be filling the role of the villain and company leader. Who would have thought Activision would have snagged the talented Kevin Spacey!

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare seems to be headed into the right direction of correcting the series rehashes. What will be interesting is to discover whether Call of Duty can regain the success along with sales records.

The game will become available for PS4, PS3, XBox 360 and Xbox One. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be available November 4th!
