The Call of Duty franchise is about to take on a whole new kind of sinister.
Kevin Spacey will be appearing in the next Call of Duty game, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare". If his particular brand of treachery in the critically acclaimed fan-favorite Netflix Original Series "House of Cards" is any kind of measure for Spacey's dark side, the new game will likely be taking a chilling new direction.
Brand new information on the newest Call of Duty game has been released via the June issue of Game Informer (available for purchase here). Though many specifics are still foggy ahead of the release on November 4th, Game Informer's piece on 'Advanced Warfare' reveals that the game starts with a catastrophic event and is set sometime around 2052-2054.
The player character is Private William Mitchell, who, through his connection fellow soldier Will Irons, transitions from the military into a position at Atlas Corporation, a private military company whose CEO is Will's father, Jonathan Irons (Kevin Spacey).
The trailer (captured on Xbox One) for the new game features quite the monologue from Spacey and suggests that the game will feature some fresh new gameplay mechanics (namely the exosuit and next-level vehicles and weapons).
"Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" is set for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC via Sledgehammer and another (as of yet unannounced) developer will be developing the game for Xbox 360 and PS3. There hasn't been an announcement regarding "Advanced Warfare" on Wii U.
