'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' details leaked online (Trailer)

Via Destructoid, it seems a few details including screenshots and even a trailer for the latest installment of the "Call of Duty" franchise, "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" were leaked earlier today (May 2). You could believe that sort of thing. Or you could factor in that the term "leaked" is now synonymous with "automatic hype generator" in the way that many of today's AAA titles are revealed. But who cares about all that, take a look at these pretty pictures!

We don't know what's going on, but that guy's helmet looks neat.

All snark aside, the new trailer looks pretty sweet and reveals a lot plotwise. It also reveals Kevin Spacey as the villain, or at least a ritzy American babbling about democracy and how dumb it is. Graphically, the game appears to be leaps and bounds ahead of the vomit inducing textures and shadows of last year's "Call of Duty: Ghosts" and the footage is claimed to be captured directly from the Xbox One.

"Advanced Warfare" is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the team behind such hits as... partial credit for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3". Oh. Well, I guess they haven't done much of anything then. Hype!

The very first leak came from Game Informer earlier today with this image and further information has only piled on since. It won't be long now before we get an official word from Activision on the matter, hopefully along with some multiplayer details and a release date. A countdown timer on the official website indicates that the reveal will take place this Sunday at 10am Pacific.

EDIT: An official reveal trailer has now been added.
