Call me, on the line, call me Debbie Harry: the doll

Debbie Harry Barbie DollBarbie is rock’in to the sounds of the eighties, with their new 2010 Ladies of the 80s Barbie Collection. Barbie embarks on a Debbie Harry doll, who takes the mic, and brings back those days of shanghai hair, half bleached blonde and dark hairstyles, the big earrings, the leather. But best of all bringing the memories of the many hits, new wave and punk artists had made, like Debbie Harry, or known in the 80’s to be in the band, Blondie.

Barbie collectors can get excited about the doll’s representation, as Barbie is inspired by the outfit Debbie Harry wore on the Plastic Letter album. On the album, Debbie Harry wears the fuchsia pink mini dress, with the horizontal, vertical straps at the back. Rolled in designed by Bill Greening, the Debbie Harry doll models this sassy outfit that just screams come up off your color chart. The Debbie doll is wearing the pink mini dress, of faux leather, with faux leather strapping designs on the upper back of the dress and also around the wrists, mid and upper arms. She also is wearing a great pair of pink fuchsia platform heels. The hair, oh the hair, is designed in the same shag of dark and platinum blonde tones as Debbie Harry sported in the 80s.

There is also the microphone and microphone stand, so a doll collector can just imagine the new wave of music that captivated us in the 80s.  The doll sells for the retail price of $34.95 and is age appropriate for 6 and over. Doll collectors can purchase this doll on Mattel.com This doll speaks the language of love, a love for collecting those fabulous Barbies.

I love the Debbie Harry doll all accept the shape of the face Bill Greening should have made the shape more like Debbie Harry's face this is a DEBBIE HARYY doll not Barbie as Debbie Harry doll. I wish they would redo it and relase it again with a more actual Debbie Harry shaped face and Debbie does not have brown eyes they are more greenish blue .
