2014 marks the 31st annual French Quarter Festival, and as we're counting down the days the folks at FQF are looking for volunteers. What better way to be a part of the fest than to help make it happen. The French Quarter Festival is looking to recruit over 2000 volunteers. Make new friends, feel like you're apart of something that you love and visit each year, and most importantly - help keep the French Quarter Fest free.

Volunteers will sell water, soda, beer, wine and cocktails in one of the beverage booths located throughout the festival, all beverage booths will be selling alcohol so it is required that volunteers be at least 21 years old. The job does require standing in a small and sometimes wet area for the duration of your shift - but that's not all that different than hanging out in some bars on Bourbon Street on a Saturday night.

Other volunteer positions include working the information booths, selling merchandise, and taking surveys. There are also pre-festival and post-festival support teams needed for answering telephones, laminating, assembling packets, rolling posters, folding t-shirts, hanging signage on the festival grounds, and more.

In appreciation for their time, volunteers will receive a limited edition, collectible volunteer t-shirt to be worn while volunteering, food/beverage tickets for each volunteer who works a complete shift, and of course, gratitude from the community and the festival staff.

The 2014 French Quarter Festival is scheduled for April 10-13, but don't wait until then - get involved now.
