Is there an afterlife?
What I'd like to know is whether or not people of religions other than Christian see Jesus Christ in their NDE, or do they see some other prophet, or other religious figure pertinent to their own religion. In the studies I've seen, Jesus is the primary "spirit being" encountered.
Specifically, do Muslims see Muhammud? Do Buddhists see the Buddha?

Great story about the engineer almost dying from diabetes. More diabetics need to hear his story, and how he survived.
How did the doctors bring him out of the coma?
Did he know he was diabetic before the coma?
Was he taking any medication for his diabetes before the coma?

I have experienced a heavenly sojourn, but it was a "Near Life Experience" (a term I created to help convey to others that it was not a Near Death Experience). I was fully conscious, perfectly healthy and riding in a car with three others. Our car wss enveloped by a white light that blotted out everything in this world (the driver had just enough time to pull over and park on the rural dirt road we were on). The other three all experienced the same great peace and joy I did, but their spirit remained in the car while mine was taken to heaven. I want to know if there are others like me. In the 35 intervening years I've never met or read about anyone having a similar experience. Lots of NDE's but no NLE's. Thanks! I'm at 3CC_Community on Twitter.

Dear Allen:
I read Dr. Strassman's DMT book and read your fascinating interview with him. I don't think the DMT experiences he described in his book at all resemble Near-Death Experiences; they are more like very brief and intense other psychedelic experiences. He has trouble wrapping his mind around transpersonal realities, and used the materialistic "it's all in the brain" explanation.
I'm glad to see he's studying prophecy and old Hebrew. Perhaps he'll find the real explanation in the Kabbalah. This is a much richer universe than one circumscribed by a couple of pounds of grey matter.

I found this fascinating, and want to read more! There is truly a 6th sense in which we experience through our spirit, eternity. The world of our natural senses is limited, who hasn't found their answer to a problem in a dream? Great!
Why am I not reading about Betty Jane Eadie's "Embraced by the Light"? Surely this book is more detailed and specific, although I also enjoyed the other writings. However none answers the question "How does God keep tabs on 7 billion human prayers?
