Tornadoes in California: Touch down in northern part of state

North California tornadoes touched down on Wednesday, including a tornado twister in the vicinity of Sacramento which damaged more than ten homes, according to a Yahoo! News report on Thursday.

As many as 20 homes experienced damage from a tornado when it hit an area near Roseville which is located in Placer County. The time of the occurrence was at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Also, none of the damage caused families to be displaced, though significant damage was reported at several houses. The path of the tornadoes remnants extended some 300 yards with a width of some 20 yards.

Rob Baquera, a local fire department spokesperson, said that the area is in recovery mode today. He said that people were shaken up when they saw the cloud roll over them. He also said that the area is quite fortunate that everyone did the right thing by seeking shelter when the tornado struck.

In the northern and central parts of California, there were drenching rains accompanied by strong winds – bringing hail and thunderstorms on Wednesday. On the bright side, the area needed the rain.
