Californians stuck their collective middle finger at the Koch Brothers and oil companies who had poured big money into the state to pass proposition 23, but it went down in a resounding defeat.
Proposition 23 was designed to roll back AB 32 that placed limits on greenhouse emissions under the guise of fighting unemployment. This measure was roundly criticized as yet another corporate power grab all across the state. Even the Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger lashed out at the out of state billionaires who funded the initiate.
This follows on the heels of Californians defeating PG&E's attempt to maintain their electric monopoly through proposition 16.

Valero #1 corn ethanol producer and low in oil.
Just more corporate and NGO welfare.
I'm confused.
