Discounted Admission to May 24 “Gay Day” Available Exclusively Through the California’s Great America Website (www.CAGreatAmerica.com)
Get your tickets now, girls! Buy early and save big on admission to Pride Night 2013, coming Friday, May 24 to California’s Great America. Discount tickets to this popular LGBT-specific, all-ages Memorial Day Weekend extravaganza are now available exclusively through the theme park’s website.
Though Pride Night 2013 is still months away, tickets went on sale Monday, March 4. Discount presale tickets are currently available for just $40; groups purchasing 15 or more tickets receive an even deeper discount, just $35 per person. On the day of the event, all tickets will be $55.
“It is of great personal importance that we make Pride Night 2013 accessible and affordable to as many people as possible,” says Bay Area drag personality Pollo Del Mar, who signed with Cedar Fair Entertainment, Inc. – parent company of the Santa Clara, CA-based California’s Great America – to produce and promote the event. “We are very excited to have tickets already available and these dramatically discounted ticket prices for those who act now.”
Affectionately known as “Gay Day,” Pride Night has long been the Bay Area’s favorite way to jumpstart the summer Pride season. Indeed, for this one night, the LGBT community takes over Great America.
Thousands of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people – and their friends, families and allies – pack California’s Great America for an evening of thrill rides and freedom to love who they choose. Rides operate 5pm to midnight, with main stage performances spread throughout the evening. From midnight to 2am, the central plaza becomes a massive dance party.
With its history of top-name entertainment and community-based focus, Pride Night is the only event of its kind in Northern California. The diversity of past headlining acts ranges from chart-topping pop stars like former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland, Robyn and Kelis to comedians Kathy Griffin and Margaret Cho.
The first major act already revealed for Pride Night 2013 is The Perry Twins. These internationally-known, Billboard Dance-charting DJ/producers will join such Bay Area staples as The Monster Show with Cookie Dough, the longest-running drag show in The Castro, DJ MC2 and rising singers PhoenixNormand and Raquela.
More high-profile celebrity headliners will be announced soon, promises Del Mar. “We already have the contracts in-hand,” she assures, “And I know the names we have on-board are going to blow people’s minds!”
