There is a major struggle in the California Republican Party. Republicans have entrusted the leadership of the party to preserve and defend the constitution through candidates and leadership like Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, while conservative Americans work hard to make the American Dream a reality. Unfortunately, the leadership has heavily contributed to making the Golden State into the Fools Gold State, through candidate choices which gift wrapped a Super Majority for the Democrats last November.
The California Republican Party has manufactured candidates who’s only possible connection (from a stereo-typical view) to the Republican Party is a fat pocketbook. For example, Damon Dunn, candidate for California Secretary of State in 2010, was a registered Democrat just a few short months before throwing his hat in the ring as the Republican candidate. After a landslide Democrat victory in 2010, Dunn returned to politics as a Declined to State candidate for Long Beach Mayor. Californians cannot forget the laughingstock of all candidates, Meg Whitman, who in spite of spending record amounts of money, couldn’t buy the election. Instead, her run made the Republican Party look like the guys on the street corners selling knock-off Coach purses, they’re just not the real thing!
In 26 days, The California Republican Party will be voting on new leadership who will hopefully revive the party. Former California State Senator, Jim Brulte, is a shoe-in to claim top spot as CRP Chairman, however the seat attracting the most attention at this years convention is the Vice Chair seat.
The two candidates could not be more polar opposite. Rodney Stanhope, running as the candidate for the “Worker Bees,” has been under attack since day one of his announcement. After years of being the go-to volunteer for grassroots candidates across the state for candidates like John Eastman, Chuck DeVore and 2nd Amendment defending Sheriff, John D’Agostini, as well as the ultimate volunteer for several Central Committees, the powers-that-be who produce candidates like Dunn and Whitman have been out for blood. Since Stanhope cannot be attacked on his political supporting track record, his personal life has been whispered about and spun behind closed doors. However, Stanhope may just be the candidate to pick up the torch for the “Average Joe” which was left to burn out by the late Barbara Alby.
One of the greatest impacts to the California Republican Party was former Assemblywoman Barbara Alby. There is not one person who has ever met Alby, who would say she was not “Larger Than Life.” Alby, who in every sense of the word, was a true Reagan Republican. She would proudly share her story from Welfare Mom to Assemblywoman by contributing that transformation to Ronald Reagan and the values of the Republican Party. The Republican Party used to be the Party of the everyday American, helping them to achieve the American Dream.
Unfortunately, The Party has drifted so far from the days of Alby, that an ACLU Board Director Lawyer from Pelosi’s backyard is looking to be second-in-command for the California Republican Party! Now, I can understand the thinking of “promoting change from the inside,” however, Harmeet Dhillon does not walk the walk of “Change from the inside.” The other night, I received a mass email from Celeste Greig, President of the California Republican Assembly:
“AGAIN NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.......JUST THE FACTS!
CONSIDERING THAT MS. DHILLON CONTRIBUTED TO ULTRA LIBERAL SAN FRANCISCO DEMOCRAT KAMALA HARRIS WHO RAN FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL, WHEN WE HAD THREE EXCELLENT REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES:
Los Angeles County District Attorney STEVE COOLEY, Eminent Constitutional Attorney Dr. JOHN EASTMAN, and Orange County State Senator TOM HARMAN.
AND SHE WANTS TO BE THE NEXT VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE CALIFORNIA REPUBLICAN PARTY?
YOU BE THE JUDGE!“
Since this is an internal party election, only delegates are able to vote for the new leadership...however, Registered Republican Voters can have an impact on this election by phoning into your county Republican Central Committees. Let them know you want real leadership in the California Republican Party and who you support as a registered Republican.
