In a California Mission Valley Mall shooting update, San Diego news channels report that 22-year-old Salvatore Belvedere has died after having been shot in the head during the California Mission Valley Mall shooting on Christmas Eve. “Salvatore, who was shot in the head and chest, died Friday, police confirmed,” reported San Diego’s CBS8 on Dec. 27, 2013.

The first victim in San Diego’s Mission Valley Mall shooting incident died from a head shot at the scene. According to previous Mission Valley Mall shooting updates, 22-year-old Salvatore suffered brain damage in the shooting, and 22-year-old Ilona Flint from San Diego died at the scene.

Ilona Flint had called 911 after being shot in the head but had died by the time police found the black sedan in which Salvatore and Ilona had been in the Mission Valley Mall parking lot across from Macy’s. Ilona was working Christmas night at the Mission Valley Westfield Mall and Salvatore was there to pick her up. According to Salvatore’s family, it was not unusual for him to pick up his brother’s fiancée from work.

Salvatore’s brother, 24-year-old Gianni Belvedere, is Ilona Flint’s fiance and the last time Gianni was seen was around 10 p.m. Monday evening at his home in Tierrasanta. Salvatore and Gianni’s family have pleaded to San Diego media to please assist in helping to find Gianni since they are very worried about him.

“The Mission Valley Mall shooter is being described as a man of unknown race possibly in his 20s, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 tall, wearing tan pants and an unknown color shirt. He may have been driving a 2008 to 2011 dark gray Honda sedan.”

Gianni Belvedere is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 165 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Detectives are also looking for his dark green, four-door 2004 Toyota Camry XLE with Utah license plate B15-4VZ.

Anyone with information about Gianni or the California Mission Valley Mall shooting is asked to call the SDPD Homicide Unit -- Adult Missing Persons Section at (619) 531-2293 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Anonymous email and text messages can also be sent in via www.sdcrimestoppers.com, and a reward of up to $1,000 may be paid through the San Diego County Crime Stoppers for information provided on the whereabouts of Gianni or the crime. At this point, Gianni remains only a person that his family and police are looking for in order to solve the mystery of the Mission Valley Mall shooting.
