Q: Out of all of Stephen's poems and songs what inspired you to choose your track?
Dane and Marisa Conover: We've recorded a number of Stevie’s poems in song form; “I Feel God” seems to resonate the most with listeners.
Q: What inspires you the most about Stephen’s writing?
D&MC: What we like about his writing is the wide range and depth of perspective. It’s very personal and at the same time universal. The internal and universal, and both ring true.
Q: What part of the recording process was the most challenging?
D&MC: The challenge with a song format is deciding how to best put forward the words without compromising the melody. Poems have way more words than song lyrics, in general. So the original poem had to be truncated to flow melodically. The original poem is longer, so there were liberties taken, but the original still exists to be read...
Q: What part of the recording process was the most enjoyable?
D&MC: Hearing it finished and mastered and out there!

D&MC: We love Stevie, he’s a treasure! We’d like to do a box set of his poems...
