New play by Jill Charlotte Thomas California Dreamin’ explores the events leading up to the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders and their aftermath. It suggests the friendship between Charles Manson and coffee heiress and murder victim Abigail Folger, a relationship denied by official accounts of the incident and further suggests a calculated cover-up to shield the dead woman’s reputation. Meticulously researched by Thomas the show is directed by L. Flint Esquerra, the MET Theatre's longtime artistic director. Paul Koslo and Gabrieal Griego produce for the MET Theatre.
The cast includes (in alphabetical order) Sean Andrews, Mark Deliman, Heather Fox, John F. Goff, Rachel Kerbs, Rachel Longoria, Danille Motley, Samantha Posey, Philip Sokoloff and Tyson Turrou.
Among Flint’s many credits there are the critically acclaimed productions of On Holy Ground, Head: The Brain That Wouldn’t Die Musical, Heydrich/Hitler/Holocaust and The Bones of Lesser Men.
Thomas previously saw three of her short plays produced at the MET: David, Autobiography and Audition. She served as casting director on the MET’s production of Window of Opportunity and is currently writing a musical, Summer Holiday. The literary review On The Bus will publish two of her poems in its next issue.
