California cop killer: Officer killed in shootout

Alleged California cop killer, Christopher Dorner, appears to have taken another life. According to a report dated Feb. 12 by TMZ, a deputy has died due to gunshots.

At the time of this report, the cabin where it is believed Christopher Dorner was cornered, is on fire. It is believed that Christopher Dorner is dead. Although that has not been confirmed, gunshots were heard inside the cabin as well as the sound of exploding ammunition. Then the cabin caught on fire.

Christopher Dorner is suspected of killing three people. The deputy killed in the cabin in Big Bear now brings that number up to four.

Reports are still coming in, seeing officers are still on the scene and the cabin is still burning. It is unknown if the California cop killer was the person in the cabin or if he is now dead. It is possible that Christopher Dorner escaped into the woods before the cabin started burning.

If Christopher Dorner is the person in the cabin, it will be the end to a long search for the former police officer and Navy reservist. That cabin is only a few hundred yards from the search headquarters for the California cop killer.

At the time of publication, the name of the deputy killed in the shootout at the cabin in Big Bear had not been released.
