The California state budget is late. Nothing new here. But the longer the budget is held up by wasteful delays, the more it costs Californians.
According to the California Department of Finance, it costs the state $52 million a day for every day the state remains with no budget. Projects go uncompleted and teachers remain unpaid, among other unnecessary hardships. IOUs are issued from the state. Maybe that makes everything better.
Adding insult to injury, the Governor is causing the budget delay by playing politics with Proposition 23.
California Gov. Schwarzenegger, along with the California State Legislature, are developing punitive measures against the supporters of Proposition 23. The measures are to be included in the current budget. Once the budget is passed, adding these taxes later just isn’t possible. Hence, the costly delays in the current budget proposal so the politicians can devise ways to punish Californians and their businesses even more.
Proposition 23 will save jobs, keep prices from rising out of control, and help prevent the further exodus of businesses and taxpayers from the state. All Californians need to vote their pocket books in November: Yes on Prop 23.

Comments
More than an insult, the Gov and his crowd are financing their war against Prop 23 with taxpayer money. These people are beneath contempt.
