Some of the menu items offered include Hot Fudge Sundaes, Banana Splits or make your own from a selection of ice cream flavors and topping ingredients. If you wonder about the waffle cone or cup option: get the waffle cone because it’s a treat you won’t want to miss.
For your continuing chocolate loving pleasure, take a bag of Ghirardelli’s chocolate home with you. Again the soda shop gives you choices, bag your own or buy a package in small 40 piece bags or medium 80 piece bags. Special holiday chocolates in decorator packaging are available for special occasions.
If you are wondering where all this goodness came from here’s the short version. Ghirardelli Chocolate was founded by Domingo Ghirardelli in 1852, a second generation chocolatier. He emigrated from Italy to Peru before settling in San Francisco. Ghirardelli set up his chocolate business in the midst of California’s Gold Frenzy. His chocolate was a great success, allowing him to employ chocolate makers and establish Ghirardelli Square.
