Calif. pro goes wire-to-wire at Lewis Smith Lake

Calif. pro from Redlands, Brent Ehrler weighed 14-11 today, fishing his way to a wire-to-wire win at the second stop on the 2013 FLW Tour at Lewis Smith Lake.

With his tournament total of 60-09, Ehrler claimed his 5th Tour victory and a $125,000 payday. "It got nasty today and I threw it (the Picasso School-E-Rig) and got the big one," revealed Ehrler in his post weigh-in interview. "When it's windy and dark, they'll chase that thing."

Ehrler also divulged that during the week he used a wacky-rigged Senko with a Gamakatsu hook, targeting suspended fish that he found with his Hummingbird 1198.

The Keystone Light pro beat out the 169 boat field with a lead of more than 7-lbs over his nearest competitor.

This win follows a runner-up position on the first FLW Tour stop at the Big O. He has amassed $160,000 for the season and is atop the standings for Angler of the Year (AOY).
