According to the 2014 Sochi website on Thursday, for the third time this week, Canada finished in fourth place in a luge event.

In the mixed team luge event, Alex Gough, Sam Edney, Tristan Walker, and Justin Snith of Calgary just finished one place off the podium, as they were a full tenth of a second back of the bronze medalists from Latvia. Germany won gold and Russia won silver.

Gough placed fourth in the women's event on Tuesday, while Walker and Snith placed fourth in the men's doubles luge on Wednesday.

Team Canada has never won a medal in luge in the history of the Olympic Winter Games. Luge earned full medal status at the 1964 Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck.

The lugers have not been the only Canadians this week to finish in the top five at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi without earning a medal. In the men's 10km biathlon sprint, Jean-Phillippe Leguellec of Kingston, Ontario finished fifth on Saturday, Marc-Antoine Gagnon of Montreal finished in fourth place in the men's moguls on Monday and Maxence Parrot of Cowansville, Quebec finished in fifth place in the men's slopestyle snowboarding on Saturday.
