According to the Sochi 2014 website on Thursday, two Calgary freestyle skiers finished in the top ten in Winter Olympic competition.
In the men's ski cross, Brady Leman placed fourth in the big final of the men's ski cross final after finishing behind three Frenchmen--gold medalist Jean Frederic Chapus, silver medallist Arnaud Bovolenta and bronze medalist Jonathan Midol.
Leman, who broke his leg a day before the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, had the third fastest time in qualifying, and did a great job to stay on his feet after there was a crash in front of him in the first round. Leman was dominant however in the quarterfinal and semi-final before he fell half way down the course in the big final, and unable to prevent the French sweep.
Meanwhile in the women's halfpipe skiing event, Rosalind Groenewoud finished in seventh place. American Maddie Bowman won the gold medal with 89 points, followed by silver medalist Marie Martinod of France at 85.4 points and bronze medalist Ayana Onozuka of Japan at 83.2 points.
Groenewoud fell in her first run and seemed tentative in her second run.
