According to the Associated Press, Alex Gough, Samuel Edney, Tristan Walker and Justin Snith finished in second place on Sunday in a World Cup team relay event in luge at Koenigssee, Germany.
The Calgary foursome representing Canada, had a time of 2:44.54. Germany's Natalie Geisenberger, David Moller, Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt posted a time of 2:43.710 to win the World Cup competition, while Austria's Nina Reithmayer, Daniel Pfister, Peter Penz and Georg Fischler finished third with a time of 2:45.242.
Team relay luge will be making its Olympic debut at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Countries receive times based on the total time in the female competition, male competition and men's doubles competition.
The Canadians are currently fifth in the World Cup standings. They previously finished in second place in Igls, Austria on November 25.
Another Calgarian also won a World Cup medal on the weekend. Calgary native Kaillie Humphries won a bronze medal in a women's World Cup bobsled competition in Altenberg, Germany on Friday.
