Calcasieu Sheriff arrests two for burglary and theft

On May 15, 2014, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies conducting extra patrol at a Moss Bluff convenience store observed two suspicious men enter the store wearing camouflage clothing, which was covered in mud and water.

While speaking with the two men, later identified as Cody D. Brock, 24, 603 Madeline Street, Lake Charles, and Jeret M. Wilson, 27, 309 Morningside Drive, Moss Bluff, deputies received a call regarding an ATV in the ditch near the store. Deputies also discovered a cordless drill and a bag of numerous miscellaneous keys were located on the ATV.

When deputies ran the VIN number of the ATV and contacted the owner, he advised the ATV was stolen from his home and a second ATV was damaged during the night.

After further investigation, Brock and Wilson were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and both charged with simple burglary; 2 counts of theft of a motor vehicle over $1,500; and 2 counts of simple criminal damage to property.

Judge David Ritchie set Brock’s bond at $115,000; and set Wilson’s bond at $140,000.

CPSO Deputy Cody Onxley was the arresting deputy on this case.
