Calcasieu Sheriff arrests Moss Bluff man for burglary and theft

On December 3, 2012, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a home on Topsy Road in Moss Bluff in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim who advised when she returned home, she discovered her home had been burglarized and several pieces of jewelry were stolen.

After further investigation, detectives arrested Roy Woodard, 41, 546 Cob Circle, Moss Bluff, in connection with the burglary and theft.

When questioned by detectives, Woodard, who was already incarcerated in the Calcasieu Correctional Center for unrelated charges, confirmed he burglarized the victim’s home and stole the items.

He is charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling; and theft under $500.

Judge Ron Ware set his bond at $16,000.

CPSO Detective John Casarez is the lead investigator on this case.
