Cake that tastes like a famous candy

"Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake" will remind you of the famous candy!
"Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake" will remind you of the famous candy!

Peanut butter and chocolate......this divine combination is one that is hard to beat! Of course, we all know about "Reece's Peanut Butter Cups" and how wonderful they are. This combination is always so very good and there are a number of food items on the market that utilize the marriage of these two favorites.

How about let's taking a chocolate cake and giving it a dose of peanut butter? That's the recipe I'm sharing today, which is for "Chocolate Peanut-Butter Cake". This is an easy-mix cake and is one that has been very popular for a long time, because it's easy to put together. It's a dessert that anyone who loves the chocolate peanut butter cups will absolutely adore!

The cake is made by combining dry ingredients first. A combination of water, butter, oil and cocoa is placed in a saucepan and brought to the boiling point. This is added to the dry ingredients and mixed. Then you combine buttermilk, eggs and vanilla extract and add to the first mixture. This goes into a 9x13 inch pan and baked. When it comes from the oven, a layer of peanut butter is spread over the cake. You can use as much peanut butter as you choose! Finally, a chocolate icing goes over it. When it cools, it's all set for indulgence!

You'll see in the recipe that it calls for cinnamon. This is an optional ingredient and I usually don't add it. Also, you can even make this cake without the electric mixer. You can mix this in a bowl using a wire whisk and not even be bothered with using the mixer at all! The icing can be mixed in the saucepan that you melt the butter, milk and cocoa in. That'll save on dishwashing. As you can see, it's a near-perfect recipe: good, easy and not much to have to clean up!

Since we're talking about peanut butter, sometime ago I gave a recipe for a "Peanut Butter Pound Cake", which is simply great! Though there's no chocolate in it, anyone who loves peanut butter will love it! To get this recipe, follow this link:
