'Cake Boss: Next Great Baker' recap 'Wedding Belles'

Tonight's episode finds Buddy Valastro, the "Cake Boss" looking for the next great baker on his competition show, "Cake Boss: Next Great Baker." This TLC episode is titled, "Wedding Belles." The bakers are vying for a job at Buddy's bakery, known to most of his fans as Carlo's Bakery across the street from Hoboken City Hall and the $100,000 grand prize.

This episode finds Buddy having mixed feelings as to whether to bring Garrett back after he had a panic attack and missed the last challenge. Garrett decided that he needed outside help to cure his anxiety issues and dropped out of the competition; saving Buddy from making a decision. Buddy told the rest of the group about Garrett, and they seemed relieved.

Their first challenge is all about cannolis. Each baker must make as many cannolis as possible in two minutes. They must be worthy of Carlo's Bakery standards, or they do not count. They are rolled around a wooden spool, ten they go into the fryer. If cooked inside and outside, they are fine. The top two bakers will have an advantage in the next challenge. Jen had 27 and Letty had 26 and won the choice of picking two people to have on their team.

The challenge was wedding cakes; Buddy's favorite kind of cake. Three brides were there in their gowns and ready to tell the bakers what they wanted. The brides described themselves and the three groups each had to break out the cakes on the counter and find the number of the bride that their team would get to design their cake. Nobody seemed to want the third bride because she claimed to have obsessive compulsive disorder.

The MVP of the winning team will win a trip to Jamaica and so will the bride. The teams have about five minutes to confer with the brides, and then they will have eight hours to design the cake the bride wants. About half way through the eight hours, the brides come back in order to change their minds about what they want. Some of the bakers are relieved, and others are just ambivalent.

As the finishing touches are made, the time is running out until no time is left. They deliver the cakes to the brides who cannot judge. The judges are from TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta." The first cake was gorgeous and had one problem; the beautiful bow fell down during the judging. Cake number two was pretty, but looked like something was missing. Cake three was nice, but it was not finished and the bride was unhappy. When the judging was done, cake number one was the winner, and the bride won a trip to Jamaica. The MVP chosen from, Gretel-Ann, Jen and Chad and the winner was Gretel-Ann, who never had a honeymoon.

The team of Ashley, Peter and Letty was the losing team, and Peter was the one who went home in the box truck. Now the competition is down to seven bakers as the competition keeps getting tougher to see who will be the "Cake Boss: Next Great Baker."
