'Cake Boss' discovers the 'Next Great Bride' on TLC

Tonight's first episode of "Cake Boss" was titled "Next Great Bride." As the episode begins, Ashley; winner of the third season of “Next Great Baker” is getting married. She is designing her wedding cake, although Buddy does not agree with her choices. She collects taxidermy animals, and wants two mice as the bride and groom atop her cake. She grew up with these animals around her, and although city folk thought, it is weird; she is perfectly fine with it.

She chose the design of Brian’s groom’s cake, their dog playing ping pong against their chickens and their cat with a fishing pole. As Ashley leaves for Kentucky, the fate of her cakes is in the hands of Buddy, Ralph and the rest of the gang.

In Kentucky, Ashley is having the last fitting of her wedding dress, as her family is surrounding her.

Back in Jersey, the groom’s cake is coming along, as Ralph is making a pendulum mechanism to animate the dog playing ping pong against the chickens. As Anthony starts talking smack with Buddy, they make a wager. He and Buddy will play ping pong; if Anthony wins, he gets weekends off for the entire summer, but if Buddy wins, Anthony gets a haircut, and they get to wax his entire body. The ping-pong table gets wheeled in, and Ralph knows that the universe loves Buddy more than Anthony. Although Anthony is better at ping pong, Anthony will lose anyway. Sure enough, he lost! So Buddy’s friend Skye came in to do the job, in front of the staff. Anthony is a virgin to waxing and when the first piece was done, he nearly dropped dead. However, he survived nicely and now Buddy thinks he did him a favor. Although he was very red from the waxing, he did look pretty good.

Danny and Anthony got to drive the two cakes down to Kentucky and found out that Ashley’s mother did not want the mice atop the cake, but this was Ashley’s choice and the wedding was lovely. When Danny and Anthony presented her wedding cake, everyone loved it, even though the mice were on the top. Then she announced she had a surprise for Brian, and the groom’s cake came out. He was shocked and loved the concept with their animals adorning the cake. Congratulations to Ashley and Brian, hope you live happily ever after on this episode of "Cake Boss."
