Cain to deliver SRLC keynote address

Former presidential candidate Herman Cain will deliver the keynote address at this year's Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) this weekend in Charleston, South Carolina.

Mr. Cain, who withdrew from the race for the Republican nomination last month, will deliver the keynote address on Thursday, January 19th. The speech will also include an "unconventional endorsement" of one of the remaining candidates in the field.

Mr. Cain broke down the strengths and weaknesses he saw with each of the five remaining Republican candidates on Tuesday in a CNN interview. His most positive words came in addressing fellow Georgian Newt Gingrich and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

Yesterday, the GOP's 2008 Vice-Presidential candidate, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, indicated she was supporting Newt Gingrich in South Carolina.

The SRLC begins this afternoon and will run through Saturday, January 21, when South Carolina voters go to the polls to make their choice. All five candidates will appear at a debate at the conference, which shall also be held on Thursday, January 19.
