On Saturday, November 2 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Cahaba Brewing Company (2616 3rd Avenue South, Birmingham) will hold their 1st Annual Pink Boil & Brew, a day of food and beer to raise funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama.
Pink Boil & Brew will be a family friendly event at the brewery featuring what organizers are calling "the best low country boil in Birmingham". To pair with this always tasty Southern tradition, Cahaba Brewing will be pouring their fine lineup of brews for you to enjoy throughout the event. And what's a low country boil without some great music? To cover that base, the Reed Street Band will go on from 3-5 p.m. and Gentleman Zero will close out the event from 5-7 p.m. Pink Boil & Brew has a little of something for everyone, and it sounds like it should make for a great Saturday out in Birmingham.
With that said, the best news about this event is that it benefits the amazing cause of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA). Since 1996, the BCRFA has raised and invested nearly $4 million dollars of seed money to pave the way for the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center to receive sought-after and sustaining grant dollars. This money has been raised through events in Birmingham just like Pink Boil & Brew, and those funds go toward achieving BCRFA's mission "to help find a cure for breast cancer by funding promising Breast Cancer Research and to motivate community awareness and funding for that research".
