Cahaba Brewing Company (2616 3rd Ave South, Birmingham) has announced that they will mark the brewing of their 100th batch by releasing a limited edition brew called Cahaba Centennial Ale.
Cahaba Brewing has hit the milestone of one hundred brewed batches just six months after their grand opening back in September of 2012. To celebrate this momentous occasion in every brewery’s life, Cahaba has decided to brew Cahaba Centennial Ale as a means to say thank you to all of their fans and supporters.
“We wanted to do something special for all the support we have received from craft beer lovers and retailers,” says Cahaba Brewing’s managing member, Eric Myer. “We are particularly appreciative of the great relationship we have with Birmingham Budweiser and their dedication to expanding the craft beer market in Alabama and supporting local brewers.”
The Cahaba Centennial Ale is aptly named because it not only marks the brewery’s 100th batch, but it is also hopped solely with the very tasty Centennial hop. The exclusive use of Centennial hops gives this Extra Pale Ale a burst of citrus and floral notes in both aroma and flavor. For more information on what to expect from this limited release, here is the offering's full brewery description:
The Cahaba Centennial Ale is an Extra Pale Ale hopped exclusively with the ethereal Centennial hops. This hop variety, described as a ‘Super Cascade,’ is hard to find and a treat for Birmingham’s craft beer lovers. Weighing in at 5.1% ABV and 19.2 IBU’s, this Extra Pale Ale starts with a crisp bite and ends with the floral aroma that makes Centennial famous.
Centennial Ale will be available for a limited time at Cahaba's taproom and at craft beer friendly restaurants, bars and growler stations in Birmingham within the next week. Make sure to keep an eye out for this tasty brew so that you can raise a glass to what Cahaba has already done with their short time in the Alabama craft beer scene and to the bright future ahead of this great brewery. I also want to relay a quick, personal congratulations to everyone at Cahaba Brewing Company. Keep doing what you do, guys and gals. Prost!
