Caffeinated Affair: Strange Brew classes at the Denver Public Library

On the fourth Saturday of each month at the Ross-Broadway branch of the Denver Public Library, coffee neophytes and connoisseurs alike can be found with their noses in something other than books.

Ross-Broadway offers Strange Brew classes each month, where individuals can learn some of the science behind the less conventional brew methods for the home and the secret to making a delicious cup of coffee. Award winning Denver roaster Novo Coffee provides the coffee for each class, ensuring that participants of the classes have the opportunity to taste coffee beans that have been sourced from around the world.

Full disclosure: I teach this awesome class. After identifying a disconnect between the specialty coffee industry and the majority of people who love coffee, I decided to create the Strange Brew class. The coffeehouse culture can be intimidating, I know. I teach the Strange Brew class so that people can be both informed and empowered as consumers.
