Caesars confirms negotiating with Britney Spears for Planet Hollywood gig

It's been rumored for quite some time, and on Friday, it was finally confirmed. Caesars Entertainment Group confirmed Friday that it is in negotiations with pop superstar Britney Spears. Not only that, we now know the venue: Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

In a statement, the entertainment group confirmed that it is working with Spears’ representatives for “a potential headlining residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.” The statement read:

Caesars Entertainment is continuously working to redefine the Las Vegas entertainment landscape. As a pioneer of the modern Las Vegas headlining residency model, Caesars Entertainment regularly engages in conversations with today’s top artists to perform at any number of our Las Vegas resorts.

We can now confirm the company is actively engaged in discussions with Britney Spears' representatives regarding a potential headlining residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

Although Caesars has confirmed that it is in negotiations with Spears, earlier it was reported that three Las Vegas properties were attempting to sign Britney Spears to a deal as their headliner. It's unclear if those other two properties are still bidding, or if there may be even more in the mix, now.

Earlier, Extra said that the deal was nearly done, and that Spears and team were deciding between two different Caesars properties.

It looks like the decision on which property to choose has been made. All that needs be done is for Britney to sign on the dotted line.

Britney Spears recently split from fiancee Jason Trawick and announced that she will not be returning for a second season on "X Factor." While there had been earlier rumors that "X Factor" producers were about to axe her anyway, Spears said she was exiting the show to return to music.
