On February 25, Angelica McDaniel, head of CBS daytime, tweeted that the she would be sad to see Cynthia Watros exit the role, but that was happy to welcome Cady McClain to “The Young and the Restless” family. Watros is leaving “The Young and the Restless” for the MTV series “Finding Carter”.
Also in a tweet dated Feb. 25, Cynthia Watros confirmed that her last day of filming at “The Young and the Restless” will be March 14 and said that she was “so sad to leave.” Her scenes as Kelly will continue to air through mid-April. Cady McClain has yet to officially confirm that she has been cast as Kelly Andrews. McClain was one half of the 1990s “All My Children” super couple Dixie Cooney and Tad Martin. Michael E. Knight portrayed the love of Dixie’s life, Tad Martin.
McClain re-joined the cast of “All My Children” when Prospect Park brought the soap opera to the internet. “AMC” went on a permanent hiatus in mid-2013, claiming that there were just too many obstacles to overcome. Currently Prospect Park and ABC are embroiled in a legal battle over “All My Children” and “One Life to Live”.
In addition to acting, Cady McClain is also an accomplished singer and director, and has just completed her memoir entitled “Murdering My Youth.” McClain revealed the memoirs design and cover photo recently on her Facebook fan page.
