The Cadillac CTS-V street racing against a BMW M5 in a slightly modified race is a very interesting video to watch. Both vehicles are rather sizable sedans with V8's. The BMW features a smaller engine and makes equal horsepower stock as the CTS-V. Torque values are slightly higher by 36 ft-lb for the CTS-V because it's engine is slightly bigger.
The power band comes on sooner for the CTS-V which helps off the line and at gear change. The immediate launch shows how the increased torque and lower peak power RPM helps the CTS-V. As the race continues, the BMW's more efficient motor is displayed as the M5 slowly pulls ahead for the victory. BMW is known for using smaller engines that are built with less friction, moving mass, etc. Let's check out the specifications of both competitors!
